This is the second time we’ve used Alexander Damp Proofing for tanking plastering and damp proofing and I would recommend them to anyone. They are professional and completed the job in the time I was told and left very tidy.

Carl did a great job on our property removing damp and dry rot. Cleaned up brilliantly after a messy job. Great price for all the work he did. Nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Karl came round as soon as he could – recognising my concerns about possible rising damp. After checking & finding no moisture he assured me this wasn’t the case and was able to relate the symptoms to a previous leak that was now fixed.
I’m sure it would have been easy for him to ‘find’ an issue but he was happy to ease my worries & leave it at that. There’s a lot of publicity these days about rogue tradesmen – thankfully there’s workmen like Karl to dispute this belief.
As there was no charge for the initial survey I did offer him petrol money at least for his visit and even this was declined. Would definitely recommend & use again.

I bought my house in 1983, it is a gable end terraced, and about 100 years old. Like most
houses we had a problem with damp, condensation etc.. We looked on the internet for
damp proofers and we came across Alexander Damp. We gave them a call and they came
out and looked at and tested our walls. They gave us plenty of advice and what to do to
cure the problem. They said it would be best if they knocked the plaster off to the brick,
put a membrane over the brick, then plaster board then a skimming over the plaster
board. This worked perfectly, and now we don’t have a problem with damp. So, if you
have a problem with damp, condensation etc., give them a call.
Well recommended. Many thanks to Carl and his Dad also for coming back to correct the
work when 1 or 2 spots were not quite right.

Had damp patches around skirting boards under the window so scouted round for someone to come out and look at it for me. Carl called this morning and checked both inside and out and has assured me that it’s not rising damp in his opinion but is down to condensation.
Very professional and as I have no idea what rising damp looks like, Carl could have recommended work that didn’t need doing and I’d have been none the wiser!
An honest tradesman and therefore a rarity…would highly recommend.
